What is a location coordinator?
When we receive requests from production companies for commercial photography and video shoots, or TV program reporting teams, we provide suggestions for filming locations, obtain filming permits, and make arrangements for filming locations. The job of managing the site and the human resources involved in that job are called location coordinators or location coordinators.
The role of a location coordinator, especially in overseas locations, is
Advance procedures for the entry of the filming team and customs clearance of equipment, research on the location, application and acquisition of permission for the filming location, arranging equipment and staff on site, arranging and installing necessary equipment at the filming location, everything from the filming location. This includes arranging transportation for staff and performers, arranging hotels and meals for location staff, and resolving any incidents or troubles that may occur on location. In some cases, we may even be involved in arranging the production staff for art sets produced on-site for location shoots and managing the production process.
